In all my years of amateur photography I finally made the jump to HDR imaging. Couldn’t tell you why I avoided it for all this time but I’m considering my first two attempts a success. Each were taken after dark in the downtown area of Providence, Rhode Island and created by merging five different exposures together in Photomatix. Post work was completed in Photoshop with some Nik Filters thrown in for a little style.
Don’t know why I waited so long to try this out!

The top pic is quite nice. I’m feeling the stone and earth tones it’s bathed in. What were your 5 exposure settings?

Thanks so much for the compliment! Sorry for the late response. I had to get back to my computer and check the exposure settings. It breaks down like this…

1/4 sec
1/5 sec
1/20 sec
1/10 sec
.4 sec
I also used a number of Nik filters to give the image a bit more of that noir-ish feel.
